A Fit of Giggles

Last night, Cecilia burst into a fit of giggles for the first time!  Mommy was rough housing with George and she thought it was funny.  Matt and I have better videos of her laugh fest on our phones, but the video from our camera is a much better quality.  Enjoy!

Matt and I also put together Cecilia's Christmas present early last night.  She received a jumper/spinner thingie that makes lots of noise.  She loved it, but she was a little over-stimulated at first.  Below are a couple of photos of her in it.  Notice her feet do not even touch the ground and the seat is on its lowest setting!

Update since the last blog post

I need to apologize for taking so long to post an actual blog from the previous one (early November?).  With the holiday season has brought lots of activity!  Right before Thanksgiving we celebrated Cecilia's baptism and Matt's birthday.  The day didn't start off great for there was freezing rain, but everyone made it to the church on time (love me some eighties tunes!) and back to our house for some grub!

All tuckered out after her long day

Just a few days after the baptism/birthday we celebrated Thanksgiving in Grand Forks.  Typical, we drove through a snow storm with freezing rain/snow.  This happens every year with us whether it is Thanksgiving or Christmas.  The Minnesota roads were fine, but North Dakota needs to take notes from their neighbor and learn how to properly clean their roads!  It was a great meal and fun on Thanksgiving.  Everyone from my mom's side of the family was there for dinner except for Callie--We missed you!  Keyan and Cecilia got to hang out with one another.  It is so much fun to see those two together for each visit brings something new.  They are both growing so fast and they talk more and more to one another each time they see one another.

Sweet Keyan

Jesus loves Keyan :)

It was lots of fun in Grand Forks, but is was nice to get home.  We visited Matt's family at Ray and Melissa's when we returned.  It's always fun playing Apples to Apples and munching on yummy Thai food!  Thank you Murray's!  Of course, with Thanksgiving over meant decorating our home for Christmas!  This is by far my favorite time of year especially now that we have a beautiful baby girl to include with the festivities :)  I am loving the chance of implementing traditions for years to follow (pickle ornament and Elf on a Shelf game).  Of course, Ceci won't be able to play find the pickle of elf until next year, but it's still fun to have!  Cecilia also loves it when I sing Christmas songs to her.  Thank goodness I can still hold a tune otherwise Ceci might cry rather than smile and giggle when I sing to her.  So far her favorite song for me to sing to her is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Cecilia checking out her stocking

As you can see from the three videos I posted previously, Cecilia is talking!  She is out little chatty Cathy.  Along with talking, she has learned to prop herself up on her elbow (with help from mommy and daddy) and roll over.  She doesn't get upset when she rolls over and quickly learns how to correct herself.

Propped up on her elbows and yes, that IS Glee music playing in the background :)

This past weekend, Matt and I took Ceci to see Santa.  We stood in line for an hour and a half before Santa arrived and I'm glad we did.  The line was ridiculously long by the time Santa arrived to see the kiddies!  Cecilia did so well with Santa.  She was talking to him and was beyond interested in his shirt!  Santa was so kind to Cecilia and I think that helped, but the other mommies in line kept telling me that next year will be the year that she screams in fear for her stranger danger instincts will kick in...lets hope not!

Matt and I also took Cecilia to Joe Sensor's this past weekend to cheer on the almighty NDSU Bison football team.  They beat Montana St. in the playoff game.  She didn't quite like all the noise (LOTS of loud cheering for the Bison), but was fascinated with watching the game on the large TV's.  She has become very interested in watching TV lately, mainly Fraggle Rock and Sesame Street.  Thank goodness I have Fraggle Rock on dvd because it keeps her occupied while I do stuff around the house.

1 Deer and 6" of snow!

Quite a bit has happened since our last blog post.  Matt, George, Cecilia and I trucked up to Brandon, MN for hunting opener last weekend in hopes that Matt and his family would get some deer!  Sadly (and fortunately!) Matt was the only one out of the men that got a deer.  He got a pretty good sized doe which made me very happy!  Matt and I think Cecilia had something to do with him getting his deer because the day he shot it she was wearing her "Daddy's Little Deer" t-shirt (see photo below).  While the men were hunting Cecilia and I hung out with her grandma, aunties and cousins.  She even got to meet her Great Aunt Phyllis!

Up at 5am to wish Daddy luck!

Good luck t-shirt!

Cecilia and her first deer!

Today, we got our first snow!  We have accumulated 6" as of 11:00am this morning!  We haven't taken Cecilia out yet in her snowsuit, but I will post photos after we do.  Below are a few photos of our back and front yards with the snow fall.  This couldn't come at a better time for Matt and I have a bunch of house projects to wrap up before Cecilia's baptism next week!

2 Month Checkup

Cecilia had her two month check-up yesterday, which Mommy knew that it really meant shot day.  Cecilia received her DTap-IPV-HBV (Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis and Polio), Haemophilus Influenza Type B, Pneumococcal and Rotavirus shots.  Three were administered in her legs and one she drank.  She did not take the leg shots well!  Matt and I have never heard her scream the way she did when receiving the shots before.  She stopped screaming after Matt and I held her and fed her a bottle in the doctor's office, but she was very needy the rest of the day.  No fever from the shots, but her legs were slightly swollen when Matt and I put her to bed last night.  I am happy to report she is back to her old self today, laughing at Mommy making a fool of herself, having party time and smiling!  Below are photos of her sore little legs...

All tuckered out after the appointment
On a happier note, Cecilia weighed in at a whopping 9lbs, 3 oz.!  She measured at 22" long and her head is 38.3cm round.  This puts her in the 50th percentile for her height and head size, but only the 10th percentile for her weight.  Matt reminded Cecilia that her current weight was how much her Auntie Callie weighed at birth.  Pretty amazing that she could have weighed as much as Auntie Callie at birth.  I got lucky!!  Below are a few random photos od Cecilia hanging out in her boppy.  Happy Wednesday!

TWO MONTHS OLD!

Cecilia is two months old today!  Sadly, she is still so tiny that she only fits into her Newborn size clothes, but she is talking up a storm (cooing and gaga)--she likes to "flirt" with one of the sofa pillows while making these noises and smiling (see picture below)-- and she is what Matt and I consider an "active" baby.  She likes to have "party time" all the time.  Matt coined this phrase and it involves lots of kicking and flailing of the arms.  We get nervous putting her in her bouncer now for fear she may break it with her party time.  Thank goodness the bouncer is equipped with straps!  Also, Ceci and I went up to Grand Forks for that later part of last week while Matt was in Austin, TX for work.  She got lots of love and cuddle time with her grandparents, uncle Kevin, great grandparents, cousins and great aunt.  It was nice to spend time with the family, but it was nice to come home and see Matt!  As for Halloween, we don't have much planned.  Matt and I will probably just walk her up and down our block to say "hi" to the neighbors, weather permitting.  Cecilia does have a costume which you will have to wait and see when I post her Halloween photos on Sunday!  For now, enjoy the photos below and Happy Tuesday!

7 Weeks Old!

Cecilia is officially 7 weeks old today!  Matt and I can not believe how fast the last 7 weeks have gone.  We are still thinking she is the little peanut that she was when we brought her home from the hospital.  Since turning 7 weeks old, Cecilia discovered how to laugh--especially when she pees on her Mom and Dad--and is starting to grasp onto objects and Mommy's hair.  She can't quite hold onto what she grabs, but she is getting there!  Mommy is thankful for she is not looking forward to the day Cecilia learns to "pull" her hair...Cecilia slept through the night for the first time last night and did not wake up until 6:45am.  She was daddy's alarm clock this morning!  Cecilia celebrated our two year anniversary with us this week by going to dinner and "buying" mommy a bouquet of beautiful flowers and daddy a pair of MN Gophers pajama pants (I would never purchase anything Gophers for Matt--GO Sioux!).  Cecilia can also roll to one side on her own, hold her head up for what seems like a long time on her own and smile on her own without it being gas or being half asleep.  Below are a few photos taken in the last 7 weeks!
